Texas' state nickname is the Lonestar State. Its motto is simply Friendship. Texas comes from the word tejas, which is the Caddo word for friend.

Houston's Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center is NASA's center for training, flight control, and research. It was formed in 1961 and employs over 3,000 people. It consists of one hundred buildings and sits on over 1,600 acres of land!
