Nevada's nickname is the Silver State, pertaining to when silver was fist discovered in the state, leading to the huge migration boom. The state motto is All for Our Country.

A very popular place to visit in Nevada is Las Vegas. Commonly known as Vegas, more than 42 million tourists visit annually. Las Vegas is home to more than half of the 20 largest hotels in the world, and more than 22,000 business conventions are held in the city each year!

American tennis player Andre Agassi was born in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1970. Once ranked number one in the world, Agassi has won eight major championships, and a gold medal in the 1996 Olympic Games. He has been married to former tennis champion Steffi Graf since 2001.
