- You punched me in the nose!
- Moon Shadow had to deal with the torment of Jack and the other neighborhood boys. With Robin's encouragement, Moon Shadow defended himself and gained the respect of the boys.

- Troubled Family Members
- In America, you need a knife.
- Moon Shadow's cousin, Black Dog, had a lot of trouble with addiction. When they first meet, Black Dog tells Moon Shadow that knives are needed in America. Later, he threatens Moon Shadow with a knife and robs him and his father of their savings.

- Making Friends
- Great job!
- This is amazing!
- Moon Shadow didn't trust a lot of the white "demons" that he met, and with good reason. It was difficult for him to make friends, but he eventually formed a bond with Robin.
